Debra Lafave Pedo Middle School Teacher

Debra Lafave was arrested for numerous sexual encounters with a teen in her classroom, her home and her SUV. Charged with 4 felony counts of lewd and lascivious battery and one count of lewd and lascivious exhibition.

Currently her sentence is 3 years house arrest, 7 years probation and lifetime registration as a sex offender who cannot work near children

Debra Lafave was raised in a small town near Tampa, Florida. LaFave has claimed that she was raped by a boyfriend when she was 13 years old. By age 15, she was drinking heavily and had developed an eating disorder. However, her life appeared to turn around after high school. After reaching age 18, she briefly worked as a model for magazines.

LaFave soon gave up modeling, however, and studied English at the University of South Florida, with the goal of becoming a teacher. She maintained a high B average in college, and after graduation she landed a job teaching English at a middle school in Temple Terrace, Florida. After her first year of teaching, she married Owen LaFave in 2003.

Maria Guzman Hernandez Pedo Middle School Teacher

Maria Guzman Hernandez , Florida, a 32-year-old sixth-grade teacher at Our Lady of Charity Catholic School in Hialeah, Fla. has been arrested for repeatedly having sex with a 15-year-old student. The victim’s mother reportedly approved of the relationship.

The teacher, who is estranged from her husband to investigators that she was “going through a lot in her life,” according to court documents.

Hernandez was booked into jail on charges of sexual battery on a child over whom she had custodial authority. She was released after posting a $10,000 bond.

Jessica Bailey Wishnask Pedo Middle School Teacher

Jessica Bailey Wishnask of Leland was arrested and charged with indecent liberties with a minor.

Police say a patrol officer spotted a suspicious vehicle at Grace Street and North Fifth Avenue.  As he approached the car, the officer found Wishnask in “intimate contact” with a 15-year-old boy.

Wishnask currently lives in Greenville, North Carolina.  District Attorney Ben David said more charges are pending.

Allenna Ward Pedo Middle School Teacher

Allenna Ward is a former teacher at Bell Street Middle School in Laurens County, South Carolina.

At age 24, Allenna Ward was charged with engaging in sexual acts with five boys between the age of 14 to 15 years old. Some of the boys were students at her school.

Currently, no verdict has been made on her case.

Stephanie Ragusa Pedo Middle School Teacher

Stephanie Ragusa is a former teacher at Davidsen Middle School in Tampa, Florida. At age 28, Ragusa was arrested three times and charged with having sex with two 15-year-old students.

Christy Martin Pedo Middle School Teacher

ST. PETERSBURG – Police arrested an Azalea Middle School teacher Saturday on charges of sending pornography to a student.

Christy Lynn Martin, 32, 3457 Lynn Lake Drive S., was charged with sending pornographic photos to a 14-year-old boy’s cell phone. The boy is an eighth-grade student at Azalea Middle School, but is not a student in any of Martin’s classes, St. Petersburg Police said.

She is charged with one count of transmitting pornographic images through an electric device and one count of transmitting material harmful to a minor.

The investigation began after the eighth-grader told an adult relative about his relationship with Martin. The relative told the boy’s mother, who in turn notified the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Detectives interviewed Martin who admitted sending the photographs, police said.

Martin has been a full-time employee at Azalea Middle School since the fall of 2008. Prior to that, she was a teacher’s assistant at the school.

Police said the exact details of their relationship are not yet clear
