Tamara Hoover Pedo Naked Art Teacher
Tamara Hoover a high school art teacher had been fired because of topless photos posted on the internet. The pics were put on flickr.com by her partner and were discovered and reported to school officials who summarily dismissed her because students would now have access to the pornographic material via the Internet.
Tamara Hoover has agreed to resign from her position at Austin High School in Texas and received a $14K settlement from the school.
Debra Lafave Pedo Middle School Teacher
Debra Lafave was arrested for numerous sexual encounters with a teen in her classroom, her home and her SUV. Charged with 4 felony counts of lewd and lascivious battery and one count of lewd and lascivious exhibition.
Currently her sentence is 3 years house arrest, 7 years probation and lifetime registration as a sex offender who cannot work near children
Debra Lafave was raised in a small town near Tampa, Florida. LaFave has claimed that she was raped by a boyfriend when she was 13 years old. By age 15, she was drinking heavily and had developed an eating disorder. However, her life appeared to turn around after high school. After reaching age 18, she briefly worked as a model for magazines.
LaFave soon gave up modeling, however, and studied English at the University of South Florida, with the goal of becoming a teacher. She maintained a high B average in college, and after graduation she landed a job teaching English at a middle school in Temple Terrace, Florida. After her first year of teaching, she married Owen LaFave in 2003.
Laura Obzera Pedo Elementary Nurse
Laura J. Obzera, Bolingbrook elementary school nurse faces a potential prison sentence after admitting she had sexual contact three years ago with a teenage boy.
Bolingbrook police began investigating Obzera in early September 2008, after being contacted by officials of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. DCFS workers asked police to look into “inappropriate text messages of a sexual nature” being sent between a teenage boy and an adult, later identified as Obzera, Bolingbrook police Cmdr. Tom Ross said last year.
Maria Guzman Hernandez Pedo Middle School Teacher
Maria Guzman Hernandez , Florida, a 32-year-old sixth-grade teacher at Our Lady of Charity Catholic School in Hialeah, Fla. has been arrested for repeatedly having sex with a 15-year-old student. The victim’s mother reportedly approved of the relationship.
The teacher, who is estranged from her husband to investigators that she was “going through a lot in her life,” according to court documents.
Hernandez was booked into jail on charges of sexual battery on a child over whom she had custodial authority. She was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
Jessica Bailey Wishnask Pedo Middle School Teacher
Jessica Bailey Wishnask of Leland was arrested and charged with indecent liberties with a minor.
Police say a patrol officer spotted a suspicious vehicle at Grace Street and North Fifth Avenue. As he approached the car, the officer found Wishnask in “intimate contact” with a 15-year-old boy.
Wishnask currently lives in Greenville, North Carolina. District Attorney Ben David said more charges are pending.
Jennifer Espinosa Pedo High School Teacher
Jennifer Espinosa, 38, of Park Ridge, was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse as a result of an eight-month relationship with a former student, according to a Cook County Sheriff’s office release.
Espinosa told police she “loves” the 16-year-old boy, who was expelled from Maine East in September and is a known Sureno 13 gang member, the release said.
Espinosa, who is married with two children, was a former soccer coach at Maine East and teaches science and special education at the school, the release said.
Abbie Swogger Pedo High School Teacher
Abbie Swogger was charged in connection with a party police said she threw at the Clarion Hotel in February 2008. In separate cases, she was also accused of having sex with a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy in Natrona Heights, and stripping for teens and adult males in another home in Natrona Heights.
Abbie Swogger was charged with involuntary sexual deviate intercourse, indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, furnishing liquor to minors, unlawful contact with minors and possession with intent to deliver.
She will serve her time at a women’s correctional facility in Pennsylvania and has been ordered to have no contact with her victims. Swogger will also have to register as a sex offender on her release from prison.
Mary Kay Letourneau Pedo Elementary Teacher
Mary Kay Letourneau is a former elementary school teacher who served seven and a half years in prison after she was convicted of raping her sixth-grade student, Fualaau, who is now the father of her two youngest children. She first received a probated sentence, which was revoked when she refused to stay away from the victim, who was still a teenager at the time.
The case gained attention because Letourneau was a wife, mother and teacher at the time of her first arrest and pregnant with Fualaau’s child. She also refused to follow the court order of not having any contact with the victim and voiced her undying love for the child.
After she was released from prison, Letourneau, 43, and Fualaau, 22, exchanged vows that they wrote themselves at the Columbia Winery in Woodinville, Washington, about 20 miles northeast of Seattle.
Interesting Note: Mary Kay Letourneau the daughter of John Schmitz, who ran for President of the United States in 1972 on the American Independent Party ticket.
Jill Lewis Pedo Computer Christian Teacher
Jill Lewis is a former speech, journalism and computer teacher at Living Stones Christian School in Alvin, Texas.
At age 26, Jill Lewis was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male student. According to reports, the police received a tip that Lewis, a speech, journalism and computer teacher, had a sexual encounter with the student in December 2007. She has been charged with “improper relationship between an educator and a student.”
Nicole Long Pedo High School Teacher
Nicole Long is a former English teacher at Ayersville High School in Defiance, Ohio.
At age 29, Nicole Long was charged with having sex with a 17-year-old male student.
In January 2005, Long, who was seven months pregnant, pleaded guilty to sexual battery. In March 2005, she was sentenced to three months in prison.
Allenna Ward Pedo Middle School Teacher
Allenna Ward is a former teacher at Bell Street Middle School in Laurens County, South Carolina.
At age 24, Allenna Ward was charged with engaging in sexual acts with five boys between the age of 14 to 15 years old. Some of the boys were students at her school.
Currently, no verdict has been made on her case.
Janelle Batkins Pedo French Teacher
Janelle Batkins is a former French teacher at Roseville High School in Roseville, California.
At age 42, Janelle Batkins was charged with having sex with a 17-year-old male student.
Currently, she is service three years probation and 240 hours of community service.
Loni Folks Pedo Elementary Teacher
Loni Folks is a former fifth-grade teacher at W.L. Smith Elementary in Petal, Mississippi.
At age 24, Folks was charged with sexual battery of a 16-year-old male student.
Currently, Loni Folks has been suspended and is serving 12 years in prison followed by five years probation.
Amanda Athey Pedo English Teacher
Amanda Athey is a former English teacher at Hopewell High School in Huntersville, N.C.
Age age 27, Amanda Athey was charged with having sexual relationship with her 16-year-old female student.

Amy Northcutt Pedo Christian Teacher
Amy Northcutt is a former history teacher at Turlock Christian School in Turlock, California.
At the age 26, Amy Northcutt, along with her husband Justin Northcutt, were arrested for sending erotic text messages to a 16-year-old female student and attempting to arrange group sex with her.

Joy Blackstock Pedo High School Teacher
Joy Blackstock is a former chorus teacher at Early High School in Early, Texas.
At age 23, Blackstock was charged with having a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old male student while employed as a teacher at the school. It is important to note that Texas law prohibits sexual relationships between educators and students even if the sex is consensual and the student is of legal age.

Pamela Smart Pedo High School Teacher Bikini
In 1990, a 23-year-old beautiful media coordinator named Pamela Smart at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, New Hampshire shocked the world when she was arrested and convicted for conspiring with her 15-year-old lover, William Flynn, and his three friends to kill her 24-year-old husband. Actually, she was more of a murderer than a sex offender.
Heather Shelton Pedo High School Teacher
Meet Heather Shelton, a 22-year-old teacher’s assistant at North Buncombe High School in North Carolina was charged with having sex with a 19-year-old student. In North Carolina, it is a felony for any teacher to have sex with a student regardless of the age of the student. What was more ridiculous was that the man wasn’t even her student and the two didn’t meet at the school.
